Lilly Ledbetter

American activist who was a plaintiff in the US Supreme court case against Goodyear for employment discrimination after discovering she was earning less than her male counterparts doing the exact same job. The court ruled she had waited too long to bring her suit, but that did not deter her. She became an equality activist, public speaker and author, efforts that ultimately led congress to pass the Fair Pay Act of 2009. In 2011 she was inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame.
